Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes

Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, born **Lisa Nicole Lopes** on May 27, 1971, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was a talented American singer, rapper, and songwriter. She was best known as a member of the R&B girl group **TLC**, alongside Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas. Lisa was the creative force behind TLC, contributing significantly to their music, album titles, artworks, and music videos.

During her solo career, Lisa released two US top 10 singles: **”Not Tonight”** and **”U Know What’s Up”**, as well as the UK number-one single **”Never Be the Same Again”** featuring Melanie C of the Spice Girls. She also produced another girl group, **Blaque**, who scored a platinum album and two US top 10 hits.

Tragically, Lisa passed away on April 25, 2002, in a car accident in La Ceiba, Honduras, at the age of 30. She was driving over the speed limit when she lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a fatal crash. Lisa’s death was a significant loss to the music industry and her fans around the world.
