Latto, born **Alyssa Michelle Stephens** on December 22, 1998, in Columbus, Ohio, is an American rapper and singer. She initially gained recognition on the reality television series **”The Rap Game”** in 2016, where she was known as **Miss Mulatto** and won the show’s first season. She later adopted the stage name **Latto** and rose to prominence with her 2019 single **”Bitch from da Souf”**, which received double platinum certification by the RIAA.
Upon signing with RCA Records, Latto released her debut studio album **”Queen of da Souf”** in 2020, featuring the platinum-certified single **”Muwop”** (featuring Gucci Mane). Her 2021 single **”Big Energy”** became a major hit, peaking at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning triple platinum certification. This song was the lead single for her second studio album **”777″** (2022), which also performed well commercially.
Latto has been recognized with several awards, including two BET Awards, a BET Hip Hop Award, a Billboard Music Award, a MTV Video Music Award, and two Grammy nominations. She was included in the 2020 XXL Freshman Class and named MTV’s “Global Push Artist of the Month” in 2021.
