Da Brat

Da Brat, born **Shawntae Harris** on April 14, 1974, in Chicago, Illinois, is a pioneering American rapper and actress. She began her career in 1992 and quickly rose to fame with her debut album **”Funkdafied”** (1994), which made her the first female solo rapper to receive a platinum certification from the RIAA.

Throughout her career, Da Brat has collaborated with numerous artists, including Kris Kross, Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey, and Destiny’s Child. She also gained recognition for her feature on Lil’ Kim’s hit single **”Not Tonight”** (1997).

In addition to her music career, Da Brat has appeared in several films and TV shows, such as **”Kazaam”**, **”Civil Brand”**, and **”Celebrity Fit Club”**. She has also been involved in various business ventures and reality TV shows.

Despite her success, Da Brat has faced legal issues over the years, including a high-profile assault case for which she served time in prison.
